HOW TO CONFIGURE LG LSP 340-E CDMA Phone/Modem (Serial Cable) In UBUNTU.....?
Hi friends,
As a newer in the world of LINUX its a question that I search the past 2 Months , Until this night I got the answer ...... And this is an effort for my followers....Who seek the same.....
IMPOTENT: Its not sure to get the result as by me,when you give each command at the first time. As a newer, I humbly request you enter the same command five or more times until you get the result...I'm sure you will be the final winner.
Set Your handsets Mode to “ALLWAYS MODEM” (Check it continuously because it may reset Automatically) and Baud rate to “115200” {Menu →Additional -> Rx Mode -> Always Data}
Login to Ubuntu using your User name and password
Applications → Accessories → Terminal
Type “ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf ” and enter
That will request for your password type it and Enter
That will lead you towards a window That enquirers for a modem . If not please check your connection and your phone settings are right.
Please note from here, in which port your modem is situated. It may Be in COM 1 [ In Linux ttyS0] or in COM 2 [ In Linux ttyS1].
8. That will Lead to a Text Editor
Modify Its Data as like:-
1. Init2 = AT+CRM=1
2. Enter User name,Password and Phone Number As given by UR Provider (The phone number May be #777, Remove all “ ; ” ), Add a Line at last “ Stupid Mode = 1 ”
9. Replace ### with your User name and Password and Save it . Then Close that window and return to the Command line.
Type “ sudo wvdial ” and Enter
You will get a window , Which indicates your local IP, Primary DNS and Secondary DNS. Note the two DNS Address.
Repeat Step 7 And Replace the data as follows
[Dialer Defaults]
Modem = /dev/ttyS0 (May be S1, As by Ur port)
Baud = 115200
Dial Command = ATDT
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = AT+CRM=1
Flow Control = Hardware (CRTSCTS)
User name = ###
Password = ###
Phone = #777
Stupid Mode = 1
And save it .
Type “ sudo gedit /etc/resolv.conf ” and enter
Check the DNS Addresses with You Gained from step 11, If any Mistake Correct and save it.
Everything are OK then Type “ sudo wvdial ” and Enter.
You will get a window like this
Minimize This window and start Browsing ...... Be happy...
To Disconnect the net Maximize the window and press “Ctrl+C”
